The creator and cosmos.webp

Few of us can venture outside on a clear, dark night without pausing for a silent, reflective gaze at the stars. For countless centuries, people have felt a sense of wonder about the heavens. How did our universe come into being? Has it always been here? Is our existence the result of chance or of supernatural design? Is God "out there"? If so, what is God like?

why the universe is.webp

Increasingly astronomers recognize that if the cosmos had not unfolded exactly as it did, humanity would not, could not, exist. Yet these researchers along with countless ordinary folks resist belief in the biblical Creator. Why? They say a loving God would have made a better home for us, one without trouble and tragedy. In Why the Universe Is the Way It Is, Hugh Ross draws from his depth of study in both science and Scripture to explain how the universe's design fulfills several distinct purposes. He also reveals God's surpassing love and ultimate purpose for each individual. Why the Universe Is the Way It Is will interest anyone who wonders where and how the universe came to be, what or who is responsible for it, why we are here, or how and when the universe ends. Far from leaving the reader at this philosophical jumping off point, Ross builds toward answering the big question of human destiny and the specific question of each reader's personal destiny. Now available in trade paper.

a matter of days.webp

How long were the creation days of Genesis hours or epochs? Does belief in an old earth equate to belief in evolution? Was there any kind of death before the Fall? The length of the creation days in Genesis sparks a storm of controversy. At the core of the debate, where lighting strikes and thunder roars, lie key questions whose answers promise hope for resolution. In A Matter of Days, author and astronomer Hugh Ross addresses these questions and explores how the creation-day controversy developed. History, theology, science, and Scripture reveal creation's big picture. About the updated edition: In the 10 years since A Matter of Days first publication, the scientific and theological case for a Creator has grown exponentially. This expanded second edition, with over 50 pages of new content, extends beyond simply addressing creation-day challenges. Hugh Ross demonstrates how sound, gracious apologetics can remove obstacles to faith in Christ and help bring reconciliation in the church. This book is designed to turn arguments into conversations and to equip believers to defend their faith with gentleness and respect.

beyond the cosmos.webp

How can it be? How can my choices be totally “free” if God is in control of all things at all times and knows the end from the beginning? How can God hear my prayers while listening to billions of others around the world at the exact same moment? How can God be all-powerful and all-loving yet allow so much suffering and evil? These complex paradoxes hold far-reaching implications that have troubled people for centuries. Drawing on biblical teaching and scientific evidence that supports it, Hugh Ross invites us to envision and experience God in a way we may never have considered before. As a result, our love and appreciation for God can be dramatically deepened, and the way we relate to him and to others—both believers and nonbelievers—can be changed forever, for good.

Hidden treasures job.webp

Arguably the oldest book in the Bible, the book of Job has a surprising amount to say about some of the newest scientific discoveries and controversies. Far from a book that is just about suffering, Job is filled with rich insight into both ancient and modern questions about

the formation of the world
the difference between animals and humans
cosmology
dinosaurs and the fossil record
global warming and how to care for creation
and more

With careful consideration and exegesis, internationally known astrophysicist and Christian apologist Hugh Ross adds yet another compelling argument to the case for the veracity of the biblical commentary on the history of the universe, Earth, life, and humanity. Hidden Treasures in the Book of Job shows that the Bible is an accurate predictor of scientific discoveries and a trustworthy source of scientific information, and that the book of Scripture and the book of nature are consistent both internally and externally.

canceled science.jpeg

I can't recommend this book enough. If you want to get an introduction into intelligent design, then read this book. It is filled with interesting facts from beginning to end.

Eric Hedin was enjoying a productive career as a physics professor at Ball State University when the letter from a militant atheist arrived and all hell broke loose. The conflict spilled first onto the pages of the local newspaper, and then into the national news. The atheist attack included threats from the Freedom from Religion Foundation, which targeted Hedin after learning his Boundaries of Science course exposed students to an evidence-based case for design and purpose in cosmology, physics, and biochemistry. Canceled Science tells the dramatic story of the atheist campaign to cancel Hedin’s course, reveals the evidence the atheists tried to bury, and explores discoveries that have revolutionized our understanding of the nature and origin of matter, space, and even time itself.

"My road to atheism was paved by science . . . but, ironically, so was my later journey to God," Strobel says.

During his academic years, Lee Strobel became convinced that God was obsolete, a belief that colored his journalism career. Science had made the idea of a Creator irrelevant--or so Strobel thought.

But today science points in a different direction. A diverse and impressive body of research has increasingly supported the conclusion that the universe was intelligently designed. At the same time, Darwinism has faltered in the face of concrete facts and hard reason. Has science discovered God? At the very least, it's giving faith an immense boost, as new findings emerge about the incredible complexity of our universe.

Join Strobel as he reexamines the theories that once led him away from God. Through his compelling and highly readable account, you'll encounter the mind-stretching discoveries from cosmology, cellular biology, DNA research, astronomy, physics, and human consciousness that present compelling evidence in The Case for a Creator.

case for christ.webp

Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Former atheist and Chicago Tribune journalist Lee Strobel takes an investigative look at the evidence from the fields of science, philosophy, and history.

In this revised and updated bestseller, The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis, asking hard-hitting questions--and building a captivating case for Christ's divinity.

Strobel asks challenging questions like:

  • How reliable is the New Testament?

  • Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible?

  • Is Jesus who he said he was?

  • Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?
